How Counselling Can Help

As a professional counsellor, I aim to help you to resolve your problems and grow mentally and emotionally. Counselling can help you:

  • Cope with anxiety, anger and “everyday” depression (sadness)
  • Enhance your self esteem
  • Resolve “family” issues
  • Communicate more effectively
  • Enrich relationships
  • Relieve stress
  • Improve your marriage
  • Identify addictive behaviours
  • Change unwanted behaviours
  • Parent with confidence
  • Take control of your life

How I Help You

I work with you to help you solve your “everyday concerns” – I don’t diagnose or treat clinical disorders, but I can help you enjoy greater wellbeing. I value you as a person, listen empathetically to what you have to say, and assist you to increase your capacity for self-help and self-responsibility. The personal growth that you achieve from counselling is why it can be so effective at positively changing your life.

I’ll walk with you every step of the way

In counselling, you can always express your concerns in a trusting and safe environment. My role is never to judge you, but to help you resolve your problems in a way that’s compatible with your value system.

About your privacy

Counselling is a private experience shared by client and counsellor. What is said in our sessions is strictly confidential. I’m a member of the Australian Counselling Association (ACA), and I adhere to their Code of Conduct and respect your right to confidentiality.

Disclosure for any purpose, such as referral, requires your consent. The exceptions to this standard relate to “duty of care” and “mandatory reporting”. If there is a question of harm to yourself or others, breaking confidentially may be necessary.

How to start

Taking the first step toward overcoming problems, anxiety or difficult relationship issues takes courage, but I’m here to help you “make it happen”. To arrange your confidential initial consultation, please contact me.

Is counselling definitely for you? Can it help you overcome problems and change your life for the better? Maybe. Maybe not. You won’t know that until you try.

However, I can tell you that counselling has helped literally hundreds of my clients in the past 25 years. You owe it to yourself to try it and see for yourself the positive results. On that basis, please contact me now and take the first step in moving your life forward. I look forward to meeting you!
